How Two Dental Tools Can Change Everything

If you are like most people you brush your teeth a couple times a day and probably floss at least once a day. You can add a water flosser and a tongue scrapper to your daily dental care habits to reduce your chances of things like bad breath, cavities, and gum disease even more.

Using a water flosser

A water flosser has a compartment you fill with water. It also has a handheld device that you will use to actually floss your teeth with the water it shoots out. While regular floss needs to be put between your teeth and worked out with your fingers, the water gets blasted directly from the tip of the device. It makes it a lot easier for you to reach the back teeth that you can struggle with when it comes to using floss. It can also get rid of bacteria and plaque that isn't removed during your normal brushing routine.

You can put the water flosser on different settings so you can get your teeth nice and clean without using a blast that may be uncomfortable for your gums. You can also purchase one that has a lot of different attachments that allow you to scrum your teeth and pick out debris that may be really caught between your teeth.

Using a tongue scraper

Many people think that brushing their tongue with their toothbrush is all they need to do in order to completely clean their tongue. However, the bristles on the toothbrush are made specifically for the surfaces of your teeth, not your tongue. A tongue scraper is a dental tool that efficiently removes bacteria and plaque right off of the surface of your tongue. This can be very helpful in creating a healthier mouth because all that bacteria and plaque will then be spat from your mouth so you don't have to worry about it transferring onto your teeth or causing you other issues like bad breath.

You should add a session of tongue scraping to your nighttime dental habits so you know that you are going to bed each night with your mouth as clean as possible. This way, bacteria won't be working overtime in your mouth while you are enjoying a good night's slumber.
