Gummy Smile? You Don't Have to Live with It

Three Benefits Of Using Dentures To Replace Missing Teeth

Losing any of your teeth can have major cosmetic and functional issues for you. While patients that have suffered tooth loss will have several replacement options available to them, many people will overlook traditional dentures due to believing that this will be an inferior option. Yet, a patient that chooses to invest in a set of dentures can enjoy a few important benefits that can help minimize the effects of their tooth loss.

Available In Both Full And Partial Options

There is a frequent assumption that dentures are only a good tooth replacement option for individuals that have lost all or most of their teeth. While this may be the case for full dentures, there are partial sets of dentures available. This option is designed to attach to the remaining teeth in the mouth. In addition to being suitable for replacing single teeth, this option can also be excellent for individuals that are missing teeth that are separated by natural teeth.

Offers An Economical Tooth Replacement Option

Dental implants are another common option for replacing missing teeth. However, a single dental implant can be extremely expensive, and it will not be covered by insurance. For those that are needing to have multiple teeth replaced, implants may simply be too expensive to afford. In contrast, dentures are extremely affordable when compared to implants, and patients will likely find that they can have an entire set of dentures made for the price it could cost to install a single implant. Furthermore, dentures will have much lower repair costs, which can be useful when you find yourself needing to have repairs done to them.

Correct Functional Issues

After losing a tooth, many people will find that they are primarily concerned with the cosmetic effects that can result from losing a tooth. However, there are many functional issues that can also arise. In particular, you will find that missing one or more of your teeth will make it difficult for you to eat many foods, drink beverages and speak clearly. A set of dentures will restore the vast majority of these functional issues.

Choosing to have a set of dentures made can be a great investment if you have lost any of your teeth. By understanding that you can choose to have partial dentures made, the fact that dentures will be one of the most affordable tooth replacement options, as well as the various functional problems that dentures can correct, you will have a much stronger appreciation of using this option to replace any teeth that you have lost. About Me

Gummy Smile? You Don't Have to Live with It

I have always had healthy teeth, but I hated my gums. When I smiled, more gum than tooth showed. No one ever said anything about it to me, but it made me self-conscious. My mother always told me that my gums would stop bothering me when I was older, but unfortunately, they didn't. I began looking into what I could do to finally have a smile I liked showing, and I learned that I could have a procedure that removed my excess gum tissue that was relatively simple. I had it, and I now love to smile! I created this blog to remind other people that they don't have to just simply "live with" teeth or gums they are not happy with. There are so many ways to improve your smile today, and if they make you feel better about yourself, then why not go for it?
